Richmond, Va.- VCU senior midfielder Romena Bowie is one of 50 college seniors invited to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Combine January 10-14 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The MLS SuperDraft takes place two days after the combine concludes on January 16.
Bowie was selected to the combine by a committee of Division I head soccer coaches and MLS representatives. The seniors will be joined at the combine by selected international participants and underclassmen that sign Generation Adidas contracts. The SuperDraft's format involves 4 rounds, and 76 picks overall; 19 picks make up each round.
As a senior, Bowie was named to the Atlantic 10 first team for the second consecutive year, and honored with a third team All Mid-Atlantic Region recognition, his second All-Region selection. Prior to the season, he was identified as one of TopDrawerSoccer's top 100 players, and was named to the prestigious MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List.
Bowie appeared in 19 games as a senior, starting 12, and tallied an assist from the central midfield position. For his career at VCU, Bowie tallied five assists.
