Castillo Named to SoccerAmerica.com's All-America Team

RICHMOND, Va. – Freshman Dennis Castillo garnered more postseason honors on Monday afternoon when he was named to SoccerAmerica.com's Freshman All-America Second Team.  He had previously been named a Freshman All-American by CollegeSoccer360.com.

Castillo, a defender, scored six times and recorded 12 points, while helping the VCU defense post six shutouts this season. He was also a perfect 3-for-3 on penalty kicks.

The San Jose, Costa Rica native was named to the Atlantic 10 Second Team and All-Rookie squad following the regular season.  He has also been named to the NSCAA's All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team as well as to TopDrawerSoccer.com's Top 100 Freshman list.

VCU won 12 games this season, the most since 2007 and finished the season ranked No. 25 in the country. The Rams also qualified for the NCAA Tournament and were a national seed for the first time since 2004.
