VCU returns to the court Nov. 20-22 to compete in the 2017 Maui Jim Maui Invitational. This will be the Rams' second all-time appearance at this event, the last coming in 1986.
The Rams are coming off a 76-67 loss to Virginia on Friday, Nov. 17 at the E.J. Wade Arena in Richmond, Va. Redshirt sophomore swingman Issac Vann led VCU with 19 points and five rebounds, while senior point guard Johnny Williams poured in 14 points and tied a career-high with eight assists.
VCU traveled the longest distance of any team in the field to be here in Maui. It is approximately 4,761 miles from Richmond to Maui.
Vann is finding his stride. The transfer from Maine is averaging 18.0 points and 6.5 rebounds off the bench in VCU's two games prior to Maui.
The Rams pumped in 95 points in a win over North Florida on Nov. 13, the team's most since dropping 96 on Praire View A&M on Nov. 13, 2015.
VCU hit 15 three-pointers (15-of-34) on Nov. against Grambling State, the team's most since Dec. 20, 2014 at Cincinnati.
