VCU TO HOST BLACK & GOLD, ALUMNI GAMES OCT. 22

RICHMOND, Va. – You can get your first look at the 2016-17 VCU Men's Basketball team on Saturday, Oct. 22, when the Rams open the Siegel Center doors for the annual Black and Gold Game. Tip-off is slated for 4 p.m., and a game between VCU Basketball alumni will follow immediately.

Admission to the Black and Gold Scrimmage is free. The Siegel Center will open to the public at 3 p.m., and seats are available on a first come, first serve basis.

The annual intrasquad contest will feature current VCU standouts Mo Alie-Cox, JeQuan Lewis and others. The game will also provide Rams' fans with their first look at VCU's touted recruiting class of freshmen De'Riante Jenkins, Marquell Fraser and Malik Crowfield.

VCU, led by second-year coach Will Wade, captured a share of the Atlantic 10 Conference's regular season title in 2015-16. The Rams also reached the NCAA Tournament for the sixth consecutive season and defeated Oregon State in the first round. Eight letterwinners return in 2016-17.

Rosters for the second annual VCU Basketball Alumni Game will be revealed at a later date. The 2015 game featured Rams greats Calvin Duncan, Kendrick Warren, Joey Rodriguez and Larry Sanders, to name a few.
