PERRY NAMED VIDEO COORDINATOR FOR MEN’S BASKETBALL

RICHMOND, Va. – Head Coach Shaka Smart rounded out his VCU men's basketball coaching staff with a familiar face, announcing the hiring of former graduate assistant Dwight Perry as the Rams'  new  video coordinator.

Perry has spent the last two seasons as a graduate assistant under Smart and his staff, during which VCU has posted a 56-16 mark, including back-to-back trips to the NCAA Tournament Round of 32.

"I'm extremely appreciative of the opportunity Coach Smart has given me to stay with the program," Perry said. "I'm grateful for the chance to continue to work with our student-athletes on a daily basis."

Prior to his time in Richmond, Perry spent two seasons as an intern with the Stanford men's basketball program.

The Durham, North Carolina native spent three years as a member of the University of Kentucky basketball team, where he earned his degree in Business Management.

Perry is also a graduate of VCU's Center for Sports Leadership, earning his master's in May of 2013.
