MEN’S BASKETBALL OPEN PRACTICE HIGHLIGHTS SUPER SUNDAY IN RAM NATION

The Redskins are headed in a downward spiral quickly, the World Series will be over, the NBA season is far from happening and for all you Canadians out there, the important NHL games don't happen for another 10 months (slight exaggeration).

So Ram Nation, why not spend this Sunday bleeding some Black & Gold? Two fall sports teams will be in action, while the fans will get to see their first glimpse at the 2011-12 VCU Men's Basketball team in between with the Open Practice, hosted by Jimmy John's.

The Open Practice will be the highlight of Super Sunday, with doors opening exclusively to students at 3 p.m. For 45 minutes, only students will have run of the mill with opportunities to take their picture with the Southwest Regional Trophy and the ESPY trophy.

Everyone will be giving a raffle ticket for a chance to win all sorts of cool prizes and there will be lots of lots of contests to win free gear, Final Four memorabilia and much, much more.

There will be a Facebook photo contest, a game of knock-out, dribbling contest, shooting contest, whatever you can think of we'll have it. You think you got skills on the court? Show off to the rest of Ram Nation.

At 3:45, the general public will be welcomed through the doors of the Verizon Wireless Arena for practice which will be emceed by ESPN Radio's Greg Burton, along with Head Coach Shaka Smart.

Practice will run until 4:50 with video clips shown on the scoreboards and music provided by the world-famous VCU Pep Band.

The Basketball team won't be the only Rams on display on Sunday with the Field Hockey team kicking it off at 12 p.m., when they host Delaware in the regular-season finale at Cary Street Field. With a win, the Black & Gold could earn their way into the CAA Tournament.

After practice, the Bottom and Back Bus will shuttle students from the Verizon Wireless Arena to Sports Backers for the men's soccer game against CAA rival at 6 p.m. The Rams currently find themselves in a tie for the sixth and final CAA Tournament spot with three games left on the conference slate.

Don't miss out on a Super Sunday in Ram Nation chocked full of action!
