RAMS’ SHOWDOWN IN TUSCALOOSA TO BE TELEVISED ON ESPNU

RICHMOND, Va. – When most of the nation will be wrapping up their Thanksgiving breaks, the VCU men's basketball team will be in the national spotlight.

ESPNU has announced that it will televise the Rams' showdown against former VCU Head coach Anthony Grant and the Alabama Crimson Tide on Sunday, November 27th at 9:30 p.m.

Head Coach Shaka Smart and the Rams are coming off the program's first-ever Final Four run and will look to continue the streak of five straight seasons with at least 24 wins.

Last season, the Black & Gold were regional or national television 23 times, which ties a school record set in 2007-08. VCU was on the ESPN Family of Networks seven times last season, which was the most in the program's history.

Smart and the Rams open up their 2011-12 campaign on Nov. 11th when they host Saint Francis (Pa.) at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Prior to the game, the Final Four banner will be unveiled along with a celebration of last season's historic run.
