RICHMOND, Va. – The best college basketball rivalry in the Commonwealth of Virginia will have a capacity crowd yet again.
That's right, VCU and Old Dominion will play in front of a sold out Verizon Wireless Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center on Saturday afternoon.
It marks the sixth straight year that the game has sold out the Siegel Center and marks the 23rd sellout of all-time, including ninth in the past two years.
"This is a game that is fun for everybody involved," Head Coach Shaka Smart said. "It was a knock-down, drag-out battle down there a couple weeks ago and I expect nothing less this time around. We're all looking forward to it and I'm glad to see our fans coming out in force."
VCU student tickets are still available for Saturday's game, but students are encouraged to line up early to ensure admission to the battle.
The student gate, located at the east end of the Siegel Center, will open at 12:30 p.m.
It's an official "Gold Out", with all fans encouraged to wear gold, gold and more gold to support your Rams in their quest to stay at the top of the CAA standings.
Tip-off for the game, which will be shown on ESPN2, is set for 2:02 p.m.
