RICHMOND, Va. - Here's some facts to chew on:
- Last season, the Verizon Wireless Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center accumulated a record-breaking attendence figure of over 113,000.
- 19 times the Rams donned the white home uniforms and entertained the crowd with rim-shaking dunks, dazzling assists and clutch three-pointers en route to an 18-1 home mark, the best in school history.
- In over 11 seasons that the arena has been opened, the Rams have record of 139-23 at home, good for an .858 winning percentage, which ranks 11th among all active arenas in Division I Men's Basketball. That's ahead of powerhouses such as Duke, North Carolina, Ohio State, Louisville, Syracuse and many more.

All of those numbers show how much fun is had by everyone who attends a VCU Men's Basketball game and that fun will start yet again this Thursday as the Rams face-off against intracity rival Virginia Union in the annual U.S. Army Downtown Showdown.
"Taking the court with the band playing and everybody going nuts, that's what playing here is all about," senior Brandon Rozzell said. "The constant support that our fans give us is something that is truly special to us and that's what makes it so fun to play here."
Thursday's game is set for 7:30 p.m., with doors set to open at 6 p.m.
The Rams will kick off the regular season on Friday, Nov. 12th when UNC Greensboro visits the Siegel Center. Game time for that contest is also set for 7:30 p.m.
