COACHES, FANS, MEDIA PREPARE FOR TUESDAY’S CAA BASKETBALL MEDIA DAY

RICHMOND, Va. – Along with a new location, CAA Basketball Media Day will have new features to allow fans even more access into the annual gathering near Washington D.C.

With basketball season less than a month away, VCU Head Coaches Shaka Smart and Beth Cunningham will share their thoughts with media and fans alike through various outlets made possible by the CAA.

This year's festivities will be held at Champps Restaruant at Pentagon Row in Arlington, Va. and is set to being around 9:30 a.m. and wrap up shortly after lunch.

For the first time ever, fans will get the opportunity to share in all of the excitement of CAA Basketball Media Day. The conference is producing CAA Media Day Live, a three-and-a-half hour webcast which begins at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 19 on CAASports.com.

Hosted by John Castleberry, Al Koken, Christy Winters-Scott and Charlie Woollum, the show will include interviews with all 24 CAA men's and women's basketball coaches, media members and special guests.

Along with the webcast, fans will get the chance to be part of the media. The conference will conduct a live chat throughout the morning on CAASports.com, where all 24 coaches will spend a few minutes answering questions from fans. Fans can submit their questions to livechat@caasports.com and then log on to CAASports.com during media day to get the answers.

Providing even more coverage, radio stations WRHU-FM (www.wrhu.org) and HerbFM (www.herbfm.net) will be broadcasting live from CAA Basketball Media Day and will be interviewing many of the league's coaches.  Hampton Roads Va. radio station 102.1 FM "The Game" and VCU student station WVUW will also be producing shows for tape-delayed broadcasts.

In addition to all the interviews and media coverage, the preseason All-CAA teams and predicted order of finish for the upcoming season will be unveiled.
