WHILE AT VCU:
· Saw action in 34 of the 36 games for VCU, averaging nearly
12 minutes per outing
· Finished as the only freshman guard in the CAA with a
better than 1-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio (37-to-35). Over the
final half of the season, he averaged better than a 1.5-to-1 ratio
and dished out 10 assists with just three turnovers in the five CBI
games
· After missing his first nine three-point attempts of the
year, Theus finished the year on a 6-of-17 streak, good for nearly
36% from beyond the arc
· Showed the ability to get to the basket nearly anytime he
wanted with lightning quickness and big-time athleticism
PRIOR TO VCU:
· Averaged 17.2 points, 6.2 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5
steals per game over his final two high school seasons
·Earned All-Tidewater Region Team honors during his junior
and senior campaigns.
· Theus was the first official signee for new head man Shaka
Smart and his staff.
· He was touted as one of the best on-ball defenders in the
state, with great anticipation skills.
· As the starting point guard for the Greyhounds, Theus was
looked upon as the leader of the squad both on and off the field
serving as the team captain for his final two years.
· Before Theus landed with the Black & Gold, he was being
heavily recruited by Pac-10 power Washington State, Liberty,
Duquesne and East Carolina, among others.
