WHILE AT VCU:
· Saw action in nine games last year, but was hampered by an
ankle injury that kept him out of duty for six
games
· Tallied at least one rebound in each of
his first four appearances of the 2009-10 campaign
· Registered his first career points on a lay-up late in a
home win over UNC Wilmington on Jan. 2nd
PRIOR TO VCU:
· Starring for four years at R.J. Reynolds High School,
Hinton helped lead the Demons to a pair of 4A West Sectional
runner-up finishes.
· Hinton was a starter and
important factor in the Demons’ run to the Central Piedmont
Conference regular-season and tournament championships during his
junior campaign.
· After leading the Demons in rebounding and blocked shots,
Hinton earned All-Central Piedmont Conference accolades as a
senior. He helped R.J. Reynolds to 19-9 record that
season.
· Hinton’s leadership skills were
recognized by R.J. Reynolds Head Coach Billy Martin, who named him
team captain prior to his senior campaign.
· Along with playing for
the Demons, Hinton spent time with the Kappa Magic AAU squad near
his Winston-Salem, N.C. hometown.
