RICHMOND, Va. – To the winners go the spoils.

Sophomore Adam Ball (Richmond, Va.) was named Atlantic 10 Conference Golfer of the Week Friday following his individual victory at the Wexford Plantation in Hilton Head, S.C.
Ball fired a course-record 66 during the final round of the tournament to rally past Presbyterian's Davis Parks and earn his first collegiate victory. Ball trailed by a stroke heading into the final three holes of the day, but birdied No. 16 to pull even with Davis. Ball vaulted into the lead on No. 17 when he saved par and Davis carded a bogey.
He shot 4-under (73-73-66=212) overall at the 54-hole event, and led the field with 15 birdies. Ball had recorded five top 10 finishes in his previous 11 collegiate starts.
Behind their its sophomore, VCU placed fourth overall among a competitive 17-team field.
Ball and the Rams return to the links March 14-15 when they head to Opelika, Ala. for the Auburn Tiger Invitational at the Grand National Lake Course.
