BATON ROUGE, La. – Senior Mark Jargren (Helsingborg, Sweden) tied for 17th place to lead balanced Virginia Commonwealth University this weekend at the LSU Invitational at The University Club.
Behind Jargren, the Rams placed sixth overall with a 54-hole total of 912 (+48). Host LSU captured the team title (886), fending off Chattanooga by a single stroke (887).
Jargren fired a final round 77 on Sunday and booked a three-round total of 226 at the Par 72, 7,440 yard University Club layout.
Junior Chase Sargent (Orlando, Fla.) placed 26th for the Rams with a total of 229. Freshman Rocky Khara (Sebring, Fla.) shot 74 in both the first and third rounds and tied for 31st overall.
The Rams return to work on Friday, April 9, when they head to the Irish Creek Intercollegiate in Charlotte, N.C.
