RALEIGH, N.C. – Senior Mark Jargren (Helsingborg, Sweden) carded a final-round 73 and placed 32nd to lead Virginia Commonwealth University at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course.

VCU finished 14th with a three-round total of 902, six strokes behind Western Carolina. Host N.C. State captured the team title with a total of 844 strokes. Duke, ranked 20th, was second (848), followed by Wake Forest (855), Maryland (858) and East Carolina (863).
Jargren was 8-over for the tournament with a 54-hole total of 221 on the par 71, 7,358-yard layout.
Freshman Matt Ball Jr. (Richmond, Va.) was tied for 25th overall before a 7-over 78 Tuesday sank him to 47th place. Ball was 11-over (71-75-78=224) for the tournament. Junior Chase Sargent (Orlando, Fla.), the Rams' top individual last week at the VCU Shootout, was 53rd at 12-over (73-72-80=225).
VCU continues fall play Oct. 10-11 when it heads to the Duke University Golf Course in Durham, N.C. to play in the Rod Myers Invitational.
