MCNAMARA, FIELD EARN SYNAPSE SPORTS ALL-AMERICAN HONORS

FULL ALL-AMERICAN TEAMS

RICHMOND, Va. - VCU Field Hockey's Emily McNamara and Litiana Field were both named Synapse Sports Field Hockey All-Americans.

McNamara was named to the Synapse Sports All-American Third Team while Field was named to the All-Rookie Team.

McNamara led the country in goals in 2018 as she scored a program record 27 in 19 games. She also led the country in goals per game, scoring at a rate of 1.42 per contest. Her average of 3.00 points per game ranked second nationally and her 57 total points on the season led the Atlantic 10. She was named an NFHCA Second Team All-American as well as being named to the NFHCA All-South Region First Team honors, All-Atlantic 10 First Team and the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year.

Field earns the honor after being named to All-Atlantic 10 Second Team and All-Rookie Team following her inaugural campaign. Field scored five goals and ranked second on the team with eight assists. She scored the game-winning goal in overtime against Massachusetts to send VCU to its first Atlantic 10 Championship match since joining the league.

Both student-athletes were key contributors and helped VCU finish 12-7 overall on the season including a 7-1 mark in Atlantic 10 play. The seven wins were the most conference wins in program history and VCU earned the No. 2 seed in the Atlantic 10 Championship.
