RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Field Hockey's Emily McNamara has been selected to participate in the NFHCA/Victory Sports Tours Division I Senior All-Star game on Nov. 16, 2018. She is one of just 38 seniors selected nationwide to participate.
The match will take place at the site of this year's NCAA Field Hockey Championships at Louisville's Tranger Stadium. The game will be played at 6 p.m. following the NCAA semifinal matches.
"We are extremely proud to have one of our student-athletes selected to represent VCU in the NFHCA/Victory Sports Division I Senior All-Star Game. The standards to make the roster for this event are very high and Emily has, without a doubt, met and surpassed those standards on a consistent basis. Our team is excited that she will have the opportunity and privilege to showcase our program and her skill on a national stage," said VCU Field Hockey head coach Stacey Bean.
McNamara is one of the most decorated players in VCU history. She holds the school record for goals scored in a career, total career points, goals in a season and points in a season. She is also a two-time All-Atlantic 10 First Team selection and a two-time NFHCA All-South Region Second Team selection.
McNamara currently leads the Rams and the A-10 in scoring with 20 goals to date this season and in total points with 43. She is also one goal shy of tying the program record of 21 in a season, a mark she set last year.
Last year, Spencer Tossone and Chessa Kownurko earned invitations to the NFHCA All-Star Game, becoming the first VCU student-athletes to do so since Stephanie DeMasi in 2013.
