RICHMOND, Va. – Senior Stephanie DeMasi is making sure to take advantage of every moment during her final season with the VCU field hockey program.

This past weekend, DeMasi etched her name into the top line of VCU's all-time career assists list with 24. She also had goals in both of the Rams' win this weekend, including the game-winner on Sunday over Davidson. That is all on top of the fact she played both games on the backline and helped the Black & Gold post its first two shutouts of the 2013 season.

All of that helped the Virginia Beach, Va. native earn Atlantic 10 Player of the Week accolades.

In VCU's 6-0 win over Siena on Friday, DeMasi tallied an assist on the game's first goal off the stick of Kendell Combs. Just a short while later, DeMasi got into the goal scoring act, deflecting a corner in to give the Rams a 2-0 lead before pouring it on the rest of the way.

On Sunday, DeMasi was the lone goal scorer as she deflected in a shot from Combs off a corner and helped the Black & Gold hold off a feisty Davidson squad.

On the year, DeMasi ranks second on the squad with 10 points thanks to three goals and four assists. The three goals is already a career-high as she posted two goals in each of her first three years with the Rams.

DeMasi and the Rams are back in action this week when they host in-state rival Longwood on Wednesday night. Game time at Cary Street Field is set for 6 p.m.
