RICHMOND, Va. – The coaching staff that brought the nation's third biggest turnaround to VCU in 2012 has set dates for its 2013 Team First Field Hockey camp.
VCU Head Coach Shannon Karl and her staff have announced that the 2013 Team First Field Hockey Camp is set for Wednesday, July 24 to Saturday, July 27 at the home field of the Rams, Cary Street Field.
In their first year at the helm of the Rams, Karl and her staff helped VCU to one of the best seasons in school history with 13 wins and a berth in the 2012 Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament. They are now set to host the Team First Field Hockey Camp for the second straight year. The camp is uniquely designed and catered to high school teams and their coaches.
Team First invites coaches from each high school program attending to join their squad at camp. Coaches will spend the morning and afternoon skill sessions shadowing Division I college coaches and observing their players as they are put through a technical curriculum. In the evenings, high school coaches will have the opportunity to "team-coach" with a Division I college coach as their players take the field in competitive play.
Team First's camp curriculum is designed to further educate scholastic student-athletes and their coaches in technical and tactical play in a team-centered environment.
Spaces for the 2013 camp are very limited. Registration can be completed through the brochure attached in this story or online registration will be available in the coming weeks.
