RICHMOND, Va. – Each year bring about changes in all aspects of life.
The VCU Field Hockey program is no different. In 2012, the Rams will have a new, yet familiar staff, a fresh culture and an exciting future.
With the makeover, camp will have a fresh, new look with the Black & Gold hosting two new field hockey camps this summer, the Team First and All-Access Field Hockey camps at VCU, presented by S-Squared Sports Specialists.
Team First – Wednesday, July 11th – Saturday, July 14th
Team First Field Hockey Camp is uniquely designed and catered to high school teams and their coaches.
Team First invites coaches from each high school program attending to join their squad at camp. Coaches will spend the morning and afternoon skill sessions shadowing Division I college coaches and observing their players as they are put through a technical curriculum. In the evenings, high school coaches will have the opportunity to "team-coach" with a Division I college coach as their players take the field in competitive play.
The camp's curriculum is designed to further educate scholastic student-athlete's and their coaches in technical and tactical play in a team-centered environment.
All-Access – Monday, July 16th – Thursday, July 19th
Camp participants will have an "all-access" pass into stepping up their game in preparation for their upcoming scholastic seasons. Camp will include technical instruction during the morning and afternoon sessions, with game-play during the evenings and the addition of tactical film sessions led by collegiate coaches. Camp staff will consist of Division I collegiate coaches, as well as Division I student-athletes that will serve as counselors.
All-Access camp is open to high school teams as well as individuals.
