RICHMOND, Va. – Freshman Rachel Whitt (Fredericksburg, Va.) provided all the scoring Virginia Commonwealth University would need in a victory Sunday, and now she's reaping the benefits.
Whitt was named the Colonial Athletic Association's
Rookie of the Week on Monday, one day after she converted a feed
from sophomore Kelsey Scherrer (Chesapeake, Va.)
in the sixth minute of VCU's 3-0 win over Appalachian State
Sunday in Boone, N.C.
