RICHMOND, Va. – Freshman Michael Dailey fell one out away of a no-hitter at George Washington on Friday afternoon, as an infield hit ruined the celebration. But, Dailey's effort rang strong throughout the conference, as he earned both Co-Pitcher and Rookie of the Week for the Week of April 25. The conference office made the announcement Monday afternoon.
His line of 8.2 innings, one hit, no runs, one walk, and two strikeouts was arguably the best pitching effort from a Ram all season. He also managed to get through the game to that point with just 84 pitches. His opening act was the catalyst in getting the Rams a win, helping the Black and Gold to a series win, taking two of three from the Colonials. His back of the bullpen counterpart, Sam Donko, was the recipient of the young hurlers effort by notching his NCAA-leading 16th save.
Mark Donadio was named A-10 Player of the Week, while sharing honors with Dailey in the Co-Pitcher category was Durin O'Linger of Davidson.
The Rams have a big week ahead, as they head to North Carolina with a matchup with the Tar Heels on Tuesday, followed by their final home series of the season in a three-game set with Saint Louis at The Diamond starting on Friday.
