GENERAL

  • Hard throwing right hander with a fastball that sits in the low 90s
  • Should add depth to both the rotation and bullpen

2014/JUNIOR

  • Made his first appearance in relief against Georgia Tech on Feb. 16. The righty went 3.2 innings striking out two Yellow Jackets to earn the win.
  • His first start as a Ram came on March 2, in game two of the doubleheader with Temple. Blanchard went 7.0 strong innings without allowing a run and striking out six, picking up his second win.
  • Moved into the weekend rotation on March 22, pitching in that role for most of the conference slate. In those games Blanchard went 2-1 with a 1.12 ERA and struck out 32 hitters in 32.0 innings. The right-hander held opponents to a .150 avergae in the six games, five of which were starts. During that span lefties hit .059 against Blanchard.

SANTA ANA COLLEGE

  • Named All-State during his freshman season at Santa Ana
  • Posted a 2-0 record with five saves in his first year for the Dons
  • Allowed just six hits in 30 innings while striking out 36 batters and held opponents to a .109 batting average in his freshman year
  • Went 6-3 his final season with a 2.37 ERA in 79.2 innings work

HIGH SCHOOL

  • Played four years of baseball at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, Calif.
  • Helped the Monarchs win the Trinity League his feshman year and the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Championship his final year at Mater Dei
  • Named second-team All-Conference following his junior year
