NEW MARKET, Va. – VCU junior outfielder Landon Prentiss (pictured right) has enjoyed a breakout summer with the New Market Rebels of the Valley League, for his efforts he has been named a Valley League All-Star.
Prentiss has appeared in 26 games and is hitting .358. He has collected 39 hits, with six doubles, 12 RBIs, while committing only one error defensively.
The Richmond, Va. native provided a valuable bat for the Rams during the 2013 season. Prentiss finished the 2013 season playing 33 games, hitting .292 with 26 hits, three doubles, and nine RBIs.
The Valley League All-Star game will take place at James Madison's Veteran's Memorial Stadium in Harrisonburg, Va. The game is on Sunday, July 7 with first pitch slated for 7:30 p.m.
