• VCU plays its final series of the regular season when it opens a three-game Atlantic 10 conference series with cross-town rival Richmond tonight.
• The Rams are looking to bounce back after dropping three of their last four games, including a 17-3 loss to No. 7 Virginia on Tuesday.

•VCU and Richmond meet for the 82nd time today at The Diamond, part of the HDL Inc. Athletic Village. VCU leads the all-time series 44-37.
• The Rams and Spiders meet as Atlantic 10 rivals for the first-ever time. VCU and Richmond were former confernece mates in the Colonial Athletic Associaton.
•  Last season, the two schools split a pair of mid-week games, with both schools winning on their home field. Richmond beat VCU 7-1 on March 21, before VCU won 6-4 on May 8.

RICHMOND, Va. – Senior left-handed pitcher Ryan Farrar continues to get recognition for his strong performance on Sunday against Saint Joseph's as he was named the Louisville Slugger/College Baseball Insider Northeast Region Pitcher of the Week.

Farrar, who was also named the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week and's A-10 Player of the Week, threw eight scoreless innings, striking out six, and allowing just three hits to help complete the three-game sweep over Saint Joseph's.

For the year, the Mechanicsville, Va. native has compiled a 0.69 ERA in 13 innings of work, allowed seven hits and struck out 10.

VCU returns to action on Friday against UNC Asheville in the Charleston Crab House Shootout presented by Homewood Suites in Charleston, S.C. First pitch between the Rams and Bulldogs is set for 12 p.m.
