Eppley Added to New York Yankees' Playoff Roster

BRONX, N.Y.-  The Major League Baseball Playoffs are moving to the League Championship Series and so are the New York Yankees. This year, a former Ram will be moving on with them.

Cody Eppley was added to the Yankees' playoff roster, announced by New York manger Joe Girardi earlier today.

Eppley is in the playoffs for the first time in his young major league career. He finished the regular season with a 1-2 record and a 3.33 ERA. The Dillsburg, Pa. native threw 46 innings, struck out 32 and only allowed 19 runs.

The VCU Baseball program was one of just eight schools in the country to have four players on the 40-man roster or DL on the ten MLB playoff teams. The Rams joined Rice, TCU, Texas, Virginia, California, Florida State and Miami.

New York begins play in the ALCS tonight against the Detroit Tigers in the Bronx. The entire series will be broadcasted on TBS.
