RICHMOND, Va. – VCU sophomore infielder Joey Cujas garnered CAA Co-Player of the Week honors on Monday afternoon, as announced by the league office.

The Midlothian, Va., native receives the award on the heels of a solid week at the plate and defensively as the Rams picked up four-straight victories, including a series sweep over Northeastern. Throughout the week Cujas roped 10 hits in 17 plate appearances (.588 average), drove in a team-leading eight RBI and hit his first home run of the 2012 campaign. Defensively the sophomore was just as good, recording a perfect fielding percentage behind 10 putouts and seven assists.

This marks the second time this season that Cujas has been honored, as he received the accomplishment previously on Feb. 21st.

The Rams return to the friendly confines of The Diamond this Wednesday, for the first game of a five-game home stand. VCU will take on the Flames of Liberty University, at 6 p.m.
