GENERAL

• Two-way talent who was recognized as one of the best players in the state of Virginia out of high school
• Was a 25th round selection by the Cleveland Indians in the 2009 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft following a standout career at nearby Manchester High School
• In line to nail down one of the Rams’ weekend starter spots

2010/FRESHMAN

• Made 11 appearances, including 10 starts on the mound for VCU
• Finished the season with a 4-4 record in 49.2 innings,
• Fanned 37 batters and finished with a 7.07 ERA
• Picked up his first career victory against Fairfield, throwing seven innings with three hits and four strikeouts (2/27)
• Threw seven innings of two-hit ball and five strikeouts against Cleveland State (3/5)
• Made his collegiate debut against Charleston Southern, throwing four innings while striking out eight (2/20)
• Picked up at least one strikeout in all 11 appearances
• Missed more than a month with an arm injury

HIGH SCHOOL

• Batted .450 as a senior with the Lancers and picked up four wins on the mound
• Earned All-District, All-Region, All-Metro and All-State honors following his junior and senior campaigns
• Named a Preseason All-American by Rawlings Sporting Goods and Perfect Game USA prior to the start of his senior season
• Was a part of the 2008 Gold Medal winning Central Team in the 2008 Commonwealth Games
• Led his Post 137 American Legion team to the 2008 State Championship and a third place finish at the 2008 American Legion World Series
