Sean Soares serves as the Assistant Director for EventManagement & Facility Operations. He came to VCU in 2011 as theGraduate Assistant for the Siegel Center and AthleticFacilities.
Soares is responsible for assisting with event management andfacility operations at VCU's athletic venues, includingserving as the primary contact and facility coordinator for SportsBackers Stadium. Soares also coordinates events services, such asbookings, contracts, logistics, and post-event settlements, forlarger scaled events held at the Siegel Center.
Prior to joining VCU, Soares served as the Director of StadiumOperations during Spring Training for the San Francisco Giants from2008-2011, and as Event Coordinator for Giants Enterprises atAT&T Park from 2010-2011.
Soares graduated with a degree in Business Administration with afocus in Finance and a certificate in Economics from NorthernArizona University in 2009. He will receive his M.Ed. in SportLeadership from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2012.
Originally from Santa Clara, CA Soares and his fiancee, Shannon,currently reside in Glen Allen.
