Wendy Sheppard joined the VCU AthleticDepartment in 2006, and serves as the Head Athletic Trainer forWomen’s Sports. In addition to her duties with men's andwomen's soccer, she oversees the care of each VCU athletic team,focusing on women’s sports.
Prior to her appointment at VCU, Sheppard enjoyed a successfulthree-year stint (2003-2006) with the semi-professional RichmondKickers of the USL’s Second Division. Sheppard worked as thehead athletic trainer for the Kickers, supervising andadministering treatment, physicals and rehabilitation for theteam.
From 2001-2003 Sheppard served as an athletic trainer forChesterfield Physical Therapy in Richmond. Her workload thereincluded serving as the head athletic trainer for James River HighSchool. She was also the head athletic trainer for TrinityEpiscopal School in 2001.
A native of Richmond, Sheppard earned her B.S. in Health Educationfrom VCU in 1998 and her M.S. in Sports Administration from AustinPeay State University in 2000.
