Mike Paulus has been a member of the VCU Athletic Department since August 2012. He got his start in athletic development as a graduate assistant with the Ram Athletic Fund while earning his masters at the Center for Sport Leadership at VCU.
Paulus is responsible for leading the annual fund for the Department of Athletics, which provides support for the more than 260 student-athletes competing in 16 varsity sports. His responsibilities include raising funds to support the school’s athletic endeavors, as well as directing all donor campaigns, travel, and events. He is also in charge of the athletic department’s Young Alumni program, the student donor group “Rowdy Rams”, and all day-to-day operations of the annual fund.
Prior to VCU, Paulus was a student-athlete at both the University of North Carolina and College of William and Mary, where he played quarterback. He graduated from William and Mary in the spring of 2012 with a degree in Kinesiology and Business.
