Kurpatow has been the Student Athlete Academics Advisor since July 2011.
In her position she oversees women’s basketball, golf, and field hockey and is in charge of VCU’s mentoring program. As an academic advisor she coordinates students’ schedules, tracks academic progress and helps them achieve their academic goals. Kurpatow is also a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A).
An alumnus of VCU she graduated magna cum laude from the Honor’s college with a Bachelor’s in Psychology in May 2011. While pursuing her undergraduate degree Kurpatow was a tutor for student athlete support services in psychology, international studies, criminal justice, sociology and Spanish. As a tutor she was responsible for teaching study skills and time management, and supporting the students in reaching a higher level of understanding in various subject areas.
Kurpatow was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. Before moving to Richmond in 2007 she lived in Fuengirola, Spain.
She is currently pursuing her M.Ed in Sport Leadership at VCU. Kurpatow resides in Richmond with her fiancé, Vic.
