Year: 1st season
After anchoring the Virginia Commonwealth University's women soccer back line during her four-year career, Myriam Bouchard has now joined the sidelines as a graduate assistant coach. She will help continue to lead a core group of defenders that return for the Rams in 2011, many of which she played with during her tenure.
Bouchard's numbers with the Rams defense are very impressive.
During her four campaigns with the Black & Gold, opponents were
shutout 32 times, while her defense held opponents to one goal or
less 56 times during her 78 career games. She received
All-Colonial Athletic Association accolades during all four of her
seasons at VCU, while earning CAA Defensive Player of the Year
honors in 2010.
Aside from her success with the Rams, Bouchard also garners
international experience, having played on the Canadian national
team. In 2008, she redshirted at VCU in order to play with Canada's
U-20 World Cup squad. She captained the team that competed in
the U-20 World Cup in Germany.
