RICHMOND, Va. – New heights continue to be reached both on the playing surface and in the classroom by the 270-plus student-athletes of VCU Athletics.
It doesn’t stop there. The success has become contagious. The Ram Athletic Fund is proud to announce it raised nearly $120,000 through a pair of golf tournaments earlier this month.
The Drive, held May 10 at The Foundry, was a two-day event that included a live auction and raised over $97,000 for the RAF. The Black & Gold Classic was played May 3 at Hunting Hawk Golf Club and brought in over $18,000.
The amounts set fundraising records at each tournament.
“Our fans continue to raise the bar in terms of support and prove why they are the best in the country,” Director of Athletics Ed McLaughlin said. “We hope that these types of events continue to grow and provide our student-athletes and coaches with the resources they need to succeed at the highest level.”
The Ram Athletic Fund is the lifeblood of VCU Athletics. The money donated directly impacts the Black & Gold’s 16 athletic programs, its coaches and student-athletes, both on the field and in the classroom.
